As a Technical Support Manager at Cloudflare you will:

Provide World-Class Support to our Millions of Customers - You will help the team triage and answer high priority tickets from both top partners and free customers, understand our customers needs and problems, in depth, in order to provide insights on them to the company and solve them, and are confident in addressing customer escalations with team members.

Manage Technical Support Engineers - You will coach the team to excel at their jobs, manage individual and team projects to on-time completion, have regular one-on-ones with everyone on your technical support engineering team, encourage professional development, help with training and QA, manage the support hiring process, and keep team morale high.

Help Manage and Improve Tools and Processes -You will manage and continuously improve our processes for helping customers, managing the team, and working with the rest of the company. They will also help to manage all of our support tools and software.

Work Cross-Functionally With Other Teams - You will work with other teams to guide projects that help the support team, customers and the company. You will act as the Voice of the Customer to communicate clearly the requests and problems our customers are reporting to the rest of the company through to resolution.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of team lead or management experience, with teams of 4 or more people
  • Experience managing Support Engineers' performance and development
  • Strong experience at hiring, coaching, and training Support Engineers
  • Experience managing a team to meet and exceed their individual, team, and company goals
  • Minimum of 5 years technical support experience for SaaS/PaaS enterprise solutions

What You’ll do

Cloudflare is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to join our team and support our largest and most technically sophisticated customers in resolving technical problems, threats or attacks on their infrastructure at OSI Layers 3, 4, and 7. This will span the range of Cloudflare products from Magic Transit Infrastructure Protection, Argo Smart Routing, DDoS mitigation and Network Firewall, to using the Web Application firewall (WAF), Spectrum and Rate Limiting to help customers.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Fluent English speaker is a requirement
  • 5-8 years working within a Technical Support team solving various technical issues

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers via chat, email, and phone 
  • Compare traffic signatures and attributes including IP addresses, cookie variations, HTTP headers, and JavaScript footprints to determine what is good traffic and what is malicious
  • DDoS mitigation for OSI layers 3,4, & 7: advise customers on how to filter malicious traffic using Cloudflare tools like Magic Transit, Network Firewall, WAF, IP reputation lists, packet inspection, blocklisting, allowlisting, and rate limiting
  • Work with Engineering and Operations teams to mitigate attacks, suggest steps to mitigate, and apply the appropriate mitigation when applicable
  • Work with Engineering and Product teams to improve products and tools

Availability and Schedule Requirements

  • Flexibility to work varying work schedules including; Tuesday through Saturday, Sunday through Thursday, holidays, weekends, more than 5 days in a row, or additional hours on occasion.

Compensation and Benefits

Earn an annual salary of around $111,000–$115,000, depending on qualifications. About the Department

The Cloudflare Customer Support Team solves complicated problems and answers technical questions via phone, email, chat and social media. Whether it is a Wordpress blogger using our services for free or a global Enterprise business with petabytes of web traffic, we are always eager to assist. We are the eyes and ears of Cloudflare, acting as the real-time voice of the customer to help communicate their needs and real-world use cases back to the rest of the company - for better service and future product development.

Description

Network Operations Center ("NOC") Engineers provide premium-level support for Cloudflare's largest and most technically sophisticated customers. The NOC service will specifically provide monitoring, alerting, and remediation for degradation in availability and latency across Layer 7 traffic. The NOC system will monitor HTTP requests for alert-able conditions, and our NOC team will alert customers about problems as soon as they are found. 

NOC Engineers analyze the alerts, inform the customer of any material impact, and proactively put in motion a remediation path to resolving the degraded service, whether that be by moving traffic through a new route or working with the Systems Reliability Engineering team for a quick product fix or to declare a broader incident. The team also provides reporting and analysis to the customer on a regular cadence, beyond any report that would be self-serviceable within the Cloudflare UI.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain custom alerting for availability and latency across Layer 7.  
  • Build and maintain customer dashboards  in Grafana, which will be used to monitor for alert signals.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as System Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, and Network Engineering to alert against, and subsequently provide meaningful data on performance degradation.
  • Outreach to customers for triggered alerts, providing them with meaningful information on what alerts are firing and why.
  • Escalate impactful alerts to customer support and/or other internal teams.
  • Join customer calls to provide granular and frequent status updates on critical issues.
  • Compile historical reporting on a regular cadence to customers, including remediation steps.

Requirements

3+ years experience in a customer-facing technical support role

  • Modern internet protocols like HTTPS, UDP, TCP, etc.
  • Analysis of traffic for anomaly detection and creation of mitigation rules
  • Knowledge of Cloudflare Products & Features
  • Excellent communication skills with both an internal technical audience and a high-level customer stakeholder

Job Responsibilities:

  • Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing digital strategy and performance marketing team; including building a culture of AI experimentation. Cultivate agency and vendor relationships to maximize business potential.

Work with product marketing and digital creatives to deliver optimized web experience that enhance user experience along the buyer journey.
  • Multi-Channel Strategy: Lead multi-channel marketing initiatives (social, search, display, email, blog, SEO, etc.) to acquire high-quality leads at target CACs. Partner with Growth teams to support email capabilities and experiment with nurturing strategies that impact customer journeys and adoption.
  • SEO/AEO and Content Strategy: Develop and implement an SEO/AEO/SEM strategy to inform content creation, visitor intent and content mapping. Ensure site speed, crawl-ability, and adherence to E-A-T principles.
  • Marketing Plan Development: As a center of excellence, work closely with product marketing, growth marketing and campaign management to build recommendations and deliver strong execution in support of marketing objectives. Contribute to a comprehensive marketing plan to build awareness, stimulate preference, drive demand and conversion of ideal customer profile on a global and national scale.
  • AI Strategy: Build over time a center of excellence to drive AI integration across the marketing organization; with consideration of overall customer experience. Champion new use cases and “test and learn” approach to drive business impact (efficiency and revenue)
  • Budget Management: Oversee the performance media budget, including strategic allocation and channel development, to support full-funnel marketing strategies across global business and regions.
  • Data-Driven Optimization: Implement a test-and-learn approach for conversion rate optimization. Use data insights to enhance performance marketing initiatives and report regularly to senior management. 
  • KPI Establishment: Define KPIs and targets across the full funnel (visits, conversion, revenue, recall, CAC, LTV). Drive optimization programs to improve results and marketing spend efficiency using advanced modeling techniques. Working closely with Marketing Operations. 
  • Technology Evaluation: Collaborate with Marketing Operations to assess and implement technology solutions that meet business goals and scale globally. Reduce tech debt where appropriate. 
  • Product Management Methodology: Apply agile best practices to develop a roadmap for enhancing the end-to-end digital experience, reducing tech debt, and fostering digital experimentation and personalization.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Establish an operational model for the digital strategy and performance marketing team; including development of a cross-functional RACI, SLAs and workflow processes. Build an agile structure to improve innovation, speed to market and “test and learn” culture across hybrid and global teams.

Qualifications/Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred. 
  • 15+ years of experience in driving high performing, data driven, B2B performance marketing and digital transformation; enterprise software and global experience 
  • Extensive experience in developing and leading digital strategies for B2B lead generation, customer experience, and engagement working closely with growth marketing organization 
  • Experience with building a center of excellence around digital transformation and use of AI to drive business impact; omni-channel experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and data science techniques to inform marketing strategies and optimization frameworks; especially in paid search, affiliate marketing, display advertising, retargeting, email, and social media.

  • Work with Engineering and Operations teams to mitigate attacks, suggest steps to mitigate, and apply the appropriate mitigation when applicable

What You’ll Do

Job Description

If you live and breathe movies and love talking about movies, filmmaking, and storytelling, this is the place for you. Editorial writers are expected to be highly interactive with the critical conversation surrounding industry trends, pieces of movie news, and (especially) new and recent releases. 

We are a young and growing company, meaning there is lots of opportunity for your voice to be heard, but please note that this also means there is little to no budget. We do provide press access where we are able, but this is an UNPAID​ position. 

We Should Talk More If... 

  • You love movies and love talking about movies. 

  • You’re excited by ideas and want to drive conversation surrounding movies and movie industry news. 

  • You have demonstrable writing experience, including experience reviewing movies. Please send us two samples or direct links to samples of your best work. Applications without writing samples ​will not be considered​. 

  • You’re awesome at internet research and know how to find reputable information about anything in just a few minutes. 

  • You’re familiar with the film industry as a whole and understand running industry trends. 

We’ll Be Extra Excited If... 

  • You’ve worked in the film industry or have prior experience covering the movies. 

  • You know and/or are connected with a particular subsection of the film industry (​like if you’re the Lion King of all things Disney animation). 

  • You’re familiar with things like Wordpress, Google Drive, Slack, and really basic HTML. 

  • You’ve got a track record of developing unique feature and opinion content. 

  • You can break down a movie and explain complex filmmaking decisions to a lay audience.
