Your Role

We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the software team responsible for the end-to-end experiences and capabilities of our camera product family (aka,Hudl Focus). These products are autonomous cameras that utilize edge AI to automatically track the action and upload to the cloud, offering our customers seamless access to vital, real-time video and insights. The software team is responsible for the application and integration layers running on the device, cloud and mobile app.

As aSenior Engineering Managerat Hudl, you’ll:

  • Lead division-level strategy. You’ll shape the vision for your division, ensuring alignment with Hudl’s overall strategy and setting the direction for multiple teams.
  • Develop leaders. By fostering a strong culture, you’ll develop leadership capabilities, promote best practices, and ensure high performance across your division.
  • Collaborate. You’ll work closely with leaders from various disciplines to plan and deliver enhancements across your product suite. Your ability to integrate diverse perspectives will be key to driving innovation and ensuring our products meet the highest standards.
  • Drive technical excellence. As a technical leader, you’ll guidew your teams in the development of robust, scalable solutions on the cloud. Your deep technical knowledge will be crucial in solving complex challenges and driving engineering excellence.
  • Champion Agile practices. You’ll participate actively in high-level planning and Scrum ceremonies.

We'd like to hire someone for this role who lives near our offices in Lincoln, Omaha or Lexington, but we're also open to remote candidates in Kansas City, Chicago, Austin or Dallas.

Must-Haves

  • Experience.You have extensive experience in cloud technology and building highly scalable software solutions, and you have a track record to prove it.
  • Technical strategy. You know how to set goals and guide your teams towards successful project outcomes.
  • A coach. You have a background in leading Engineers and other managers, with skills in career coaching and performance management.
  • Excellent communication skills. You can articulate ideas clearly and work effectively with various stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Professional background in relevant technologies. Experience with C#, React, React-Native, Rust, C++, MongoDB and AWS is a plus. Familiarity with adjacent languages, frameworks and services used at scale is also valuable.
  • Experience in product partnership. You have a proven ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers, in order to shape and solidify the team’s roadmap.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is displayed below, and may be eligible for bonuses which are offered at Hudl's sole discretion.  Where a candidate is placed within this base salary range is determined by experience, skills, education and training required for the job as well as our internal pay equity.  Discretionary bonuses, if awarded, may include annual targets based on company performance and a long-term incentive award.

OVERALL PURPOSE

We are looking for a motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic, vibrant and energetic Engineering team. The successful candidate will be required to contribute towards system architecture, technical decision making, planning and development of platform features and advance our platform to the next phase of operation and functionality. The application is the market leading online small business lending platform which incorporates all aspects from multiple API integrations with other fintech platforms to advanced business logic around risking, pricing and machine learning prediction for quick turnaround funding offers.

In addition, the successful candidate will be required to mentor junior Developers and be an active member of code reviewing sessions. Furthermore, taking responsibility for project delivery and system maintenance.

This role will expose you to several aspects of software development, service provider integrations, full stack technologies, project responsibility and team mentorship.

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and/or engineering managers within a specific division or group of products. This role requires a high level of strategic thinking, technical leadership, and management expertise to drive our mission forward.

Must-Haves

  • Have extensive experience in cloud technology and building highly scalable software solutions. You should have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based systems that can scale efficiently and handle large volumes of data.
  • Demonstrate a track record of driving technical strategy and leading engineering efforts. You will have experience in setting technical direction and guiding your teams towards successful project outcomes, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Possess strong managerial experience. You must have a background in leading engineering teams and managers, with skills in career coaching, performance management, and fostering a strong management culture.

Your Role

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join a team that’s building tools for customers at the highest tier of club athletic organizations. These clubs have unique needs for workflows like video capture, coaching tools, athlete analysis, recruitment, as well as organization and roster management.
