Your impact

We're looking for an experienced Senior Staff Product Marketing Manager to lead the messaging, positioning, and marketing plan for our self-serve product, HS+. You will partner with the HS+ GM/leader on our Product Marketing team to define the naming, messaging, positioning, marketing strategy and metrics that capture our product-led-growth motion and success.

As a Senior Staff Product Marketing Manager you will report to the VP, Product Marketing.  In this role you’ll deliver a regular drumbeat of research, messaging, insights and claims to support the effective promotion and positioning of the self-service. You will also help guide the product strategy by critically thinking through the value proposition and upsell path into our enterprise sales team. Co-owning our PLG-sourced revenue goals with the HS+ product leader, you will be responsible for strategizing, launching, and engaging other marketing teams and partners to help implement the go-to-market plans for HS+.

Product Marketing at Handshake is responsible for product messaging, competitive positioning, market research to inform product improvements and roadmap direction, and collaboration with stakeholders to plan awareness, acquisition, and retention initiatives that meet product and revenue goals. 

Your role

  • Full-stack product marketing; Inbound strategy to inform the product experience and outbound strategy to drive awareness, acquisition, and retention.
  • Be the voice of the self-serve customer back to product management and marketing - bringing in insights from direct client interactions, conferences, events, as well as deep customer and competitive research and analysis.
  • Work closely with Product Management and Marketing to optimize the customer experience; continuously test, refine and optimize the client experience and drive recommendations
  • Be the products’ subject matter expert so that other marketing teams can ideate and create blogs, landing pages, webinars, events, and other demand generation vehicles that effectively promote the products.
  • Support demand generation programs and employer marketing programs with product information (messaging, product features and capabilities) designed to increase market and revenue share including latest messaging, competitive positioning, roadmap details that help support product-led revenue growth. 
  • Work with Product teams to better inform product and pricing/packaging plans.

Your experience

  • 10+ years professional experience with proven track record in product marketing and developing highly effective product positioning, messaging, and marketing online content (holistic GTM planning and execution
  • PLG marketing experience
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels and functions of the organization, including Product, Engineering, and Data Eng.
  • Experience creating effective assets and thinking outside the box with video and interactive asset formats and demos 
  • Polished and compelling writing style (revel in the power of words and language)
  • Data-driven and goal-oriented.
  • Strong analytical skills across multiple types of data from marketing / financial data to product data. You’re comfortable with dashboards and spreadsheets to find insight.
  • Ability to break down ambiguous/complex problems, create discrete workstreams, and deliver a cohesive recommendation.
  • Extremely strong written (storytelling) and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver simple and actionable analysis.
  • Proven experience developing influential customer-facing messaging and content that drives action.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and a strategic thinker.
  • Optimistic, low-ego, can-do attitude. Eager to do great work and have fun doing it.
  • Background in HR Tech is a plus.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.

Compensation range

  • $195,000-$215,000 + RSUs

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

The Impact U will make:

  • Report to our Director of Product Marketing

  • Continuously improve the way we tell our story and support our CE clients by collaborating with the CS team to refine their tools, enablement materials, and trainings, including slide decks, email templates, and talking points.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the various personas under the Covered Entity umbrella by continuously conducting research and gathering insights, then apply these insights to marketing strategies and enablement of marketing, sales, and services.
  • Function as the internal subject matter expert for any covered entity activities such as product launches, marketing campaigns, events, content, and enablement, and communicate those plans accordingly.
  • Stand up a customer marketing function for the Covered Entity segment to gather customer feedback, customer references, testimonials, and case studies for external and internal use. 
  • Work with the Manufacturer CSM and Sales team to leverage CE data and testimonials in creative ways to support our retention efforts.
  • Implement a customer marketing strategy, gathering customer references, testimonials and case studies for external and internal use, establishing strategies to drive retention, engaging the Kalderos customer community, and upsell and cross-sell for products across the technology platform.

What you’ll bring

About the role

The Product Marketing manager helps develop consumer marketing strategies that drive member engagement and ultimately business outcomes. The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for taking stakeholder needs and translating them into marketing strategies. The Product Marketing Manager owns campaign development from end to end, including driving strategy, insight analysis, experimentation, measurement, copywriting, funnel analysis, and segmentation. The Product Marketing manager works closely with a variety of stakeholders to improve the member experience and deliver on core enterprise goals. 

You will report into the Associate Director, Product Marketing.

Work Location:

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is:  $113,600 - $134,900 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $102,240 - $121,410 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for product marketing campaigns and priorities including the end-to-end experience for any product marketing campaigns related to product area.
  • Develop roadmaps in partnership with Associate Director that achieve product area goals and deliver business impact
  • Generate, scope, and develop product marketing strategies and tactics to drive business goals at scale, impact member segmentation and engagement, and improve product/feature adoption. 
  • Be an organizational subject matter expert in policies, trends, and platforms related to your line of business / product responsibilities. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to align on marketing goals and approaches. 
  • Solve complex problems and marketing challenges in alignment with business objectives.
  • Proactively see that timelines, critical deadlines, and key milestones are identified and delivered against. 
  • Support Oscar's retention goals, developing marketing strategies to help drive member engagement and member satisfaction

Qualifications

  • 4+  years relevant work experience, including B2C multi-channel campaign development, value proposition development, consumer segmentation, and campaign analysis.
  • 2+ years of experience using data and analytical capabilities to solve business problems.
  • 1+ years of experience creating marketing campaigns including email campaigns that deliver quantifiable results.
  • 1+ years of direct experience defining and measuring direct response marketing tests across a single or multi-channel campaigns, including but not limited to A/B tests, multivariate tests, and holdouts.

Bonus Points

  • 1-3+ years of experience leading teams of direct and indirect reports preferred.Experience in subscriptions, loyalty programs, digital apps, or other engagement-driven products.
  • Previous healthcare or insurance work experience or education.

About the Job

As Principal Product Marketing Manager - Devices, you will ensure the “voice of customer” permeates our product roadmaps and outbound marketing for devices and related feature launches. What You’ll Do
