About the Role:
Hims & Hers is seeking a highly motivated, talented, and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Category Activation & Reactivation team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, design, medical, marketing, and analytics, to build innovative features that drive significant growth across all treatment categories on hims.com and forhers.com. By enhancing the user experience and optimizing acquisition funnels, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base and increasing revenue.
You Will:
- Lead and execute the design, development, and deployment of high-impact features for our web storefront.
- Build scalable and performant solutions primarily within the front-end that drive business growth.
- Mentor and develop team members by setting best practices for architecture, coding, delivery, and operations.
- Foster collaboration across engineering pods and teams to create reusable, scalable solutions, contributing to architecture blueprints that benefit the entire organization.
- Partner with key stakeholders in product, design, infrastructure, marketing, and project management to make data-driven decisions and optimize performance.
- Contribute to the technical and strategic vision of the Category Growth Engineering pods, identifying and implementing new technologies to enhance security, scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with backend and quality engineers to deliver high-quality code that powers hims.com and forhers.com.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by actively participating in sprint ceremonies and process refinement.
You Have:
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in an e-commerce or growth-focused engineering environment.
- A strong understanding of modern web technologies (React, GraphQL, Javascript, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3).
- Proven experience building complex consumer web applications with a strong understanding of state management.
- Strong understanding of CSS, design principles, and component library creation.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to translate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects, and deliver results on tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with cloud hosting providers such as AWS.
Nice To Have:
- Passion for healthcare and a keen interest in understanding the complexities of the problem space.
- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, GraphQL, and power user of tools such as Datadog, Amplitude, and Growthbook.
- Expertise in Domain Driven Microservice Architectures and Micro Front-Ends.
