About the Role

The Endpoint Engineering team assists companies by supporting their environments day to day and recommending best practises to follow and implement. The team designs, builds, supports, and continuously improves end user solutions end to end, enabling our customers to transform their business and modernise their end user experience. You will problem-solve technical issues for customers to show how these products can make businesses more productive, collaborative, and innovative.

As a SOE Engineer you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Customers endpoint systems with minimal direction and engage in project work when they arise. You will have a key focus on ensuring an exceptional customer experience to Datacom’s endpoint customer base.

We place a high degree of focus on developing our staff internally and offer financial incentives for engineers that certify in the technologies we use to support our customers.


This role is open in all our Datacom offices in Australia (Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Sydney).

Please note to be successful in this role you would need to be an AU Citizen and able to obtain a baseline clearance.

What you will do

At the moment, as SOE Engineer you will be focused on:

  • Maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements of environment wide configurations including user policies, device policies, security policies, firmware, drivers, and automation scripts through enterprise grade endpoint management platforms (Intune/SCCM)
  • Ensure outstanding levels of customer satisfaction by demonstrating timely, professional, and attentive responses to customers and colleagues
  • Operate in, and contribute to the winning culture of a high performing team
  • Identify service improvements, efficiencies and/or cost reductions for Datacom customers
  • Follow best practice methodologies and adhere to recognised ITIL processes (e.g., change/release).
  • Perform upgrades on applicable hardware and operating systems as required/requested
  • Provide maintenance and enhancements of deployed desktop operating system images (physical and virtual)
  • Provide continuous high-quality upkeep of supporting documentation such as Designs, As-Builts, How-tos, environment reporting, risk registers, tickets, and roadmap lifecycles
  • Assist with projects as required
  • Occasional travel to Datacom, customer sites and conferences when required.


What you will bring

Required experience:

  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager including SCCM and Intune
  • Strong technical knowledge of Active Directory – Group Policy Management
  • Strong technical knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and W365
  • Strong Scripting ability (PowerShell, VBScript, Batch)
  • Experience with Windows 10 task sequencing and end point configuration
  • Exceptional knowledge of Windows 10 and 11
  • Experience with facilitating large and enterprise scale software deployments
  • Extensive experience in SOE migrations, projects, and implementation

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Citrix Image Management
  • Good working knowledge of networking and TCP/IP, AD, DHP, DNS, certificate services and Enterprise applications

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor client’s critical application performance and availability

  • Maintain and enhance dashboards and reports to meet requirements of IT and business users
  • On-board additional applications for monitoring
  • Mentor and train customers on the Dynatrace Platform and Best Practices

Travel Requirements

Qualifications

  • 2+ years IT working experience in the areas of Application Performance Management, application monitoring, network administration, system administration, performance engineering / testing, or Java/.NET development
  • 1+ years of experience in software engineering and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • 1+ years of solid enterprise level .NET or Java development/support/operations
  • 1+ years of experience in web programming: JavaScript, AJAX and other JavaScript frameworks
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience with application technologies (J2EE, .NET, Citrix, Microservices)

Responsibilities:

  • Evangelize Dynatrace’s product offerings during international trade shows and at key customer account meetings to promote new and expanded business.
  • Partner with sales representatives to identify new sales opportunities as well as incremental sales opportunities within existing accounts.
  • As part of the solution engineering team participate in proof of concept (PoC) creation and cloud architecture discussions, leading the technical solution evaluation portion in support of sales opportunities either directly or through channel partners for multiple POCs.

About This Role

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a new addition to our Expert Services team in Durham or Boston. You will join a highly skilled and motivated customer success team dedicated to accelerating and providing continuous value to our customers. Your Mission:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor responsible for providing ongoing technical guidance and solution design, assisting both new and long-term customers in maintaining and enhancing their e-commerce front-ends. 
  • Lead discovery and solution design sessions with diverse technical implementation teams ensuring the development, delivery and launch of top-tier commercetools solutions encompassing both frontend and backend design.
  • Develop samples, proof of concepts and code snippets in modern development languages (i.e. TypeScript and React).
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new customers and partners, providing comprehensive consulting and support to ensure they are equipped to utilize our solutions effectively. Act as a subject matter expert for commercetools domains. Create materials, presentations and play books to help internal and external customers integrate commercetools into their e-commerce architecture.
  • Stay at the cutting edge of e-commerce, web and SaaS technology by keeping up with the latest trends and advancements.
  • Act as a bridge between business and technical teams on both sides, ensuring clear and effective communication of requirements and feedback.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams such as product, support, and training to facilitate collaboration and ensure the timely and successful delivery of projects.

What you need to succeed:

  • Around 5+years of proven experience as a solution architect, technical consultant, or similar role in the e-commerce industry.
  • Relevant experience with version control (Git), frontend deployment platforms (e.g. Netlify, Vercel), CI/CD processes, cloud providers (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure) environment management, deployment strategies, observability and monitoring.
  • Relevant experience in software development for production-ready applications.
  • Strong experience with modern frontend development languages and technologies (e.g. like React, nextJS) and integrations with SaaS ISV vendors (e.g. Contentful, Algolia, Adyen).
  • Ability to compose and decompose architectural diagrams which outline solution concepts, workflows, and infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with presales, post sales, engineering, operations, and delivery teams.
