Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • The management and oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Intercompany processes.
  • Lead and manage the Global accounting team taking responsibility for people management responsibilities to ensure a high performing and motivated team focused on building individual capabilities and enhancing personal development.
  • To evolve the function to ensure changing needs are met and that there are efficient procedures implemented and embedded.
  • Monitor billing and collections of management fees, sales and marketing fees, reservations fees, corporate recharges, gift cards and other relevant charges.
  • Maintain a current and accurate purchase ledger, ensuring timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers.
  • Maintain accurate VAT and tax accounting and payments.
  • In conjunction with the Payroll Manager, produce and post accurate payroll journals.
  • Produce accurate and timely monthly financial statements.
  • Manage the external audit process and auditor relationships.
  • Reconciliation of the balance sheet accounts of entities that fall within scope.
  • Ensure that local and global financial policies, procedures and agreements are observed by all.
  • Maintain a database and file of contracts, leases and agreements ensuring compliance with their requirements.

What you bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant Finance related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience in managing an accounts function and team.
  • Technical accounting knowledge.
  • Familiarisation with large accounting systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle etc. with Workday experience being preferred but not essential.
  • A demonstrable interest in the hospitality industry drawn from experience or otherwise.

As Accounting Manager, you'll: 

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day financial operations, including revenue, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
  • Support the Retail sales team on revenue reporting, commissions calculations, trade spend accounting and new customer set-up
  • Drive efficiencies in processes, work product and ways of working across the accounting team
  • Perform month-end reconciliations for key accounts such as revenue, fixed assets, receivables and accrued expenses, booking journal entries when necessary
  • Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting standards 
  • Provide thoughtful insights to FP&A team on monthly actuals, and support them in their budget-to-actual analysis
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial audits 
  • Create process documents & controls within accounting and high-spend areas to drive organization and accountability across the organization
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reporting 
  • Collaborate internally with the Finance team, as well as with cross-functional teams 
  • Bachelorʼs degree in Finance or Accounting 
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience and CPA certification preferred 
  • Experience with CPG / retail 
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards 
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills

Overview 

Electric’s Finance Team is seeking a Manager of Accounting to oversee the accounting team and ensure the accuracy and transparency in our financial reporting. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is hiring a Remote Senior Manager, Accounting

Position Purpose

As a direct report of the Vice President, Finance, the Senior Manager, Accounting ensures effectiveness and compliance of the accounting functions for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). The Senior Manager, Accounting, manages fiscal functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ethical standards. They will ensure the highest degree of organizational integrity and transparency and manage revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, audit and overall Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) agency compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

● Manage general accounting function, ensuring best practices for systems and procedures are documented and implemented in accordance with GAAP, for all BBBSA financial/accounting processes

● Assist in maintaining policies and procedures and ensure all assigned responsibilities are performed in an efficient manner meeting established timeliness and quality standards on a day-to-day basis

● Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closing reports focusing on data accuracy, correct project allocations, cash flow, and the minimization of adjusting journals. This includes bank and balance sheet reconciliations, payroll, aging reports, and corrections action plans.

● Prepare monthly risk assessments and highlight risk areas for leadership to consider.

● Review transactions posted Intacct and highlight data accuracy and integrity issues and follows up with parties concerned to resolve outstanding issues promptly.

● Engage and partner with department leads and teams to ensure compliance with BBBSA accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principles in data processing.

● Manage accounting, banking, and reporting systems access ensuring that the right people have access to timely and needed information.

● Establish and meet deadlines, provide consistent feedback to the VP, Finance on the status of deliverables, summary of action taken and planned next steps to effectively reach departmental goals.

● Prepare annual audit document request list and schedules as requested by the auditors.

● Lead accounting department projects to enhance processes and deliver timely financial information.

● Participate in setting departmental goals in alignment with the organization strategic plan.

● Train and motivate the accounting team ensuring staff have clear goals, tasks, and timelines.

● Manages related and other duties as assigned in support of department and business needs.

Education & Related Work Experience

Education Level: A degree in accounting or a related field highly preferred or demonstrated equivalent work experience and skill.

Years and Scope of Related Work Experience: A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience is required. Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred. 3-5 years direct supervisory experience required.

Skills and Knowledge:Expertise in Intacct – Sage software; Non-Profit Accounting background; Advanced knowledgeable and demonstrated application of GAAP; Federal Grants Reporting; Knowledge of Federal Grants Rules and Regulations; Supervisory Skills - ability to lead and motivate team members through performance management, engagement, development and retention strategies; Highly organized in approach, with ability to set and manage priorities; Ability to work independently in achieving results consistently on deadline; Excellent team working skills; ability to collaborate; Excellent verbal and written communication skills

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager will manage the accounting, remote concierge and billing groups for the Villa Sport division. They will lead initiative to improve efficiencies and measure performance of the department. They will work closely with the VP divisional Controller in auditing, validating and creating processes with newly implemented club management system. They will need to be organized, self-motivated, resourceful, and able to successfully handle multiple concurrent duties and assignments with minimal direct supervision.   • $120K-$140K annually, based on relevant experience to the role, plus bonus. Full-time hours.

About the Role:

We are looking for a proactive, highly motivated, outcome-oriented Accounting Leader to join our Revenue Accounting team. This role will support the accounting close process and assist with the launch of new products. The ideal candidate for this position:

  • Partner with Sales, Legal, Finance, Technical Accounting, and Revenue Operations teams to advise on non-standard contract terms and billing arrangements, while helping to develop operational best practices
  • Provide guidance and support to both Finance and business partners on revenue recognition matters, including revenue implications of new business initiatives and contract negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606 (or relevant accounting standards) and other regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with external auditors to support annual audit procedures
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue accounting processes through automation and system enhancements
  • Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, eliminate manual tasks, and improve controls in the revenue recognition process

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in a revenue accounting role, with 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Large pre-ipo or public company experience is a plus
  • Background in public accounting (Big 4 experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of SOX requirements
  • Thorough understanding of ASC 606 and ASC 340
  • Experience in the technology or SaaS industry is a plus
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex contracts and financial data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-financial audiences
  • Experience with Netsuite & Zuora, advanced Excel skills, knowledge of SQL are a plus

Our cash compensation amount for this role is between $131,000 & $155,000 in San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.


Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 daysper week (or more depending on role). You Have:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including minimum of 5 years in a Big 4 public accounting firm required
  • CPA required
  • Direct experience with the SEC registrants and technical accounting relating to public company operations required
  • Direct experience with PCAOB standards and SOX requirements required
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and remote environment
  • Proven technical understanding of financial accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP), and understanding of and ability to research and apply guidance
  • Strong communication skills required. Able to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner

The Finance team is a business partner supporting the development and execution of the Company’s strategy and is also responsible for the analysis and reporting of the financial results of Clover Health and overall business activities. The team coordinates and directs all financial transactions in the accounting system as well as supports company wide goals and initiatives relative to the financial needs of all departments. The Controllership group is responsible for accurate financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

We're seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager to lead our Opex team for General Ledger reporting and month-end close processes. In this pivotal role, you will oversee monthly journal entries, reconciliations, stock compensation, accruals and SG&A, and financial package preparation while driving efficiency and accuracy. You'll collaborate with executive management, external auditors, and our SEC reporting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and drive continuous process improvements. This high visibility position requires a strategic thinker who can effectively communicate complex financial insights to leadership, manage diverse accounting projects, and provide guidance and support to the team.

 

Location: East Coast, preferably New York or New Jersey

 

As a Accounting Manager Operating Expenses, you will:

  • Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on complex Opex accounting issues and financial reporting matters, providing guidance to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee key accounting functions, which will include managing and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations for leases, fixed assets, accrued expenses, payroll, capitalized software, stock compensation and other accounting areas. 
  • Supervise general ledger functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Assess and improve current accounting practices and procedures, and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Develop and mentor staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
  • Create and implement a process for monthly fluctuation analysis of critical and material accounts.
  • Provide support for accounting transactions for monthly or quarterly deliverables.
  • Support audit activities by assisting with quarterly and year-end financial audits as well as the annual financial/control audit.

Success in this role looks like:

  • Demonstrated strong expertise in operational expense (Opex) accounting principles and accurate GL reporting. 
  • Effectively communicating financial insights and recommendations to the accounting team, leadership, and external auditors.
  • Providing regular insight on the strengths and weaknesses of the business and accounting team, and developing actionable plans to support future growth.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy in the month-end close and reporting processes.

  • You are currently working in an accounting team for a publicly traded company or a large organization that requires SOX compliance.
  • You have experience working with Medicare Advantage programs.

  • You are proficient in financial management software (e.g., Intacct) and have advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

About the Job

  • Lead the conversion of strategic plans into executable actions by managing the rollout of cross-functional project initiatives.
  • Spearhead major transformative projects through the adoption of new systems, processes, and operational guidelines.
  • Act as the go-to Financial Accounting expert, providing pivotal insights, suggesting solutions, and representing financial interests in project discussions.
  • Build relationships with business partners and lead cross-functional teams to pinpoint and rank key improvement areas.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Computer Information Systems.
  • Minimum of 10 years of increasing responsibilities in operational accounting.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing cross-functional projects and/or system implementations.
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and effective control setups.
  • Proficient in leveraging financial systems to implement technical policies.
  • Proven track record as a change leader with strong influence on leadership and project teams.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with significant analytical and interpersonal abilities.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification.
  • Current knowledge of industry best practices and innovations.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud, FloQast, and Workiva is a plus.
  • Experience in software for internal use, software development, leases, and accounting for cost, inventory, and fixed assets.
  • Prior exposure to high-growth, fast-paced startup environments.
