MyTime is hiring a Remote Senior Software Engineer - Payments (Ruby on Rails)

Job Description

The Tech Lead - Payments role is the architect and lead developer for our Point of Sale payments integrations into gateways and payment providers such as Stripe, Global Payments, and other payment processors that MyTime integrates into.  This role is also responsible for integrations into hardware such as credit card terminals and other complex point of sale hardware systems.  The MyTime application is used by millions of consumers and tens of thousands of employees each month to interact and transact with one another in the modern era. Engineers at MyTime are responsible not just for writing code, but ensuring that it gets deployed and works properly in production.

We have created a cohesive, collaborative team environment that works hard to deliver on our innovation roadmap and meet pressing customer commitments.  We are looking for individuals who want to both learn and mentor others. While we work independently, we support each other through frequent code and design reviews, daily stand-ups, and pair programming which facilitates learning and reducing friction in our nightly release schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

 

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years building Single Page Applications; Ruby on Rails is required and knowledge of Angular is a plus
  • Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL

  • Some experience with Memcache and ElasticSearch is preferred

  • Some experience with AWS products (EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, ELB) is preferred

  • Comfortable writing test suites and specs in our test-driven environment

Job Description

As the VP of Sales, you will be expected to:

  • Build and grow the sales team and train new hires
  • Codify the sales playbook, including setting meetings, executing discovery calls, delivering product presentations, handling objections, and converting prospects to successful customers
  • Implement a process to test, learn, and iterate on components of the sales playbook ensure optimization

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of sales experience, preferably in scaling a metrics-driven SaaS sales team at a rapidly growing technology company in a highly competitive market
  • 3-10 years of sales leadership: hired at least 6 successful, high performing sales reps and managed at least 8 sales reps or managers-of-managers within dynamic sales teams
  • Executed a sales playbook used to acquire customers with $250K+ ACV.  Strong preference for experience in designing and implementing the playbook from scratch.  MEDDIC preferred
  • Preference for Sales management experience with an organization that has scaled at least to $20+M ARR.  Front-office software (i.e. martech, sales-tech, etc.) preferred but will accept any complex software sales except ad sales or hardware
  • Preference for experience selling into Multi-Location or Franchises but any industry works as long as sale was $250 K+ ACV and involved a complex DMU of 3+ people
  • Extensive sales operations experience (forecasting, planning, analysis, sales systems, reporting, compensation and quota management)
  • Ability to build vision, understand and define requirements, design practical solutions, develop supporting business cases and implement solutions for clients
  • Strong experience using CRM and Marketing Automation tools such as Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.

MyTime is searching for an engineering manager who has managed software development teams at fast growing tech startups with complex SAAS products. The position will report directly to the CTO.

This engineering manager isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, take on the challenges thrown their way and work aggressively. You will manage a globally distributed team consisting of full-stack engineers, as well as back-end and front-end specialists. 

You will take on projects with a delivery mind-set, and do whatever is needed to unblock the team. 

You will also play your part in monitoring the code deployed by your team in production, so a basic familiarity with DevOps on Amazon or Google Cloud is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with our recruiting team to attract and hire top talent. Develop, coach, mentor and motivate a high performing globally distributed team of full stack, backend and front end engineers. Do performance reviews, have career development discussions, drive the best performance from your team.
  • Promote engineering excellence by setting and enforcing coding standards, code reviews, and architectural reviews. Ensure your team produces technical solutions that align with MyTime security requirements, architectural guidelines, system design principles, and engineering best practices. Create a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with product managers and other cross-functional teams, engineers on your team, and leadership, to define the team’s vision and product roadmap, and ensure that projects are on track, resources are allocated correctly, and deadlines are met to adhere to the roadmap. Advocate for engineering-driven projects (e.g. addressing tech debt) and work with product management peers to prioritize them.
  • Independently own and drive multiple mission critical work streams. This includes the planning, execution, deployment, monitoring and support in production of features and capabilities owned by your team. 
  • Balance competing priorities, such as technical debt, customer issuers, and features, to ensure we continuously deliver value on time with high quality. 
  • Manage engineering metrics such as team velocity, delivery commitments, code quality, and successful deployments. Communicate team progress upward and around through status reports.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years experience building and managing an engineering team of at least 4-6 engineers across different levels of seniority and technology stacks for a SaaS product at scale
  • Experience managing distributed teams, including teams offshore. Effective team builder who understands the value of building a diverse and inclusive engineering team.
  • Deep knowledge of agile processes and workflows. Experience using iterative development to ship early and often.
  • Customer-centric product thinker who works in conjunction with product partners to set the strategy for the team, supported by metrics and goals. 
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to communicate with technical and non-technical folks alike to broadcast information, make decisions, and build bridges.
