Financial Systems Administrator

M.S. Walker is hiring a Remote Financial Systems Administrator

M.S. Walker, a fine wine and spirits distributor, is seeking a Financial Systems Administrator(FSA) to join our growing information technology team. As the principal liaison with the finance and sales departments, you’ll be responsible for the administration of business financial systems, ensuring they’re operating smoothly and meeting the operational demands of the department.

Through this newly established position you’ll contribute to achieving short and long-term business goals by supporting the needs of the departments and overseeing the integrity of master data within the systems. The FSA may participate on a variety of projects and be responsible for mentoring, coaching, and sharing best practices across all levels of the organization.

The primary office location is in Norwood, MA. The FSA will have an option to flex schedule with peers within the department and work remotely one day per week. Travel to other regional offices may be required to achieve departmental goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for users using the M.S. Walker financial system “ERP”; A/P, A/R, G/L, financial reporting, credit, purchasing, manufacturing, and additional modules as it relates to system-related support, reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Perform daily operations tasks for all locations, included but not limited to processing orders, identifying and resolving duplicates, verifying invoices are processed or cancelled, and assisting the credit department to resolve issues.
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain finance and sales reporting.
  • Perform month and year end processing to close fiscal periods.
  • Administer inventory processing twice a year within the ERP.
  • Perform periodic ISAM purge with master data file reorganization for products and accounts.
  • Execute twice annual business continuity with recovery test plan for in-scope systems.
  • Perform quarterly user management review and cleanup.
  • Develop and update periodic demand plan reporting for all divisions.
  • Participate as a member of the IT service desk to troubleshoot complex application issues related to ERP, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Participate as a member of an IT team that provides financial system expertise and requirements for improving financial system related projects.

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of financial systems administration, including knowledge of software operating on legacy platforms.
  • Solid understanding with hands-on experience working with core application modules within a financial management system.
  • Experience maintaining periodic sales and inventory demand plan.
  • Experience working in a multi-user, multiprocessing, OpenVMS or similar hierarchical legacy business ERP system as a systems administrator.

M.S. Walker, a fine wine and spirits distributor, is seeking a Business Application Analyst (BAA) to join our growing information technology team. As the principal liaison, you’re bridging the gap between the most critical business needs and the technology solutions operating within the environment.

Through this newly established position you’ll contribute to achieving short and long-term business goals by reverse engineering current business processes, mapping to the current state application landscape, and together with senior leaders prioritize technology investments that deploy effective and efficient solutions. The BAA will support a wide variety of projects and be responsible for mentoring, coaching, and sharing best practices across all levels of the organization.

The primary office location is in Norwood, MA. The BAA will have an option to work remotely one day per week and alternatively at a satellite office in Warren, RI or New Rochelle, NY as their primary office location. Travel to other regional offices may be required to achieve departmental goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn and fully comprehend the wine and spirits supply chain, distribution, and manufacturing industry.
  • Analyze, understand, and formally document business requirements with key business drivers that lead to prioritized system and process enhancements.
  • Develop an approach with hands-on duties to assess data quality within legacy ERP financial management system.
  • Capture business risks, dependencies, problem statements, and assumptions as part of the stakeholder engagement process.
  • Present requirements in industry leading forms, such as wireframes, system activity diagrams, use cases, system mockups, functional specifications, and business process flow charts.
  • Develop test plans for new implementations and enhancements to existing solutions.

M.S. Walker is hiring a Remote Sales Administrator

M.S. Walker is looking for a math and data-minded Sales Administrator to provide support in the form of sales analysis and reporting to the management team, suppliers, and sales staff. Working with a team of administrators and analysts, you'll learn how to utilize M.S. Walker applications to source data and provide reporting to a variety of internal stakeholders. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships throughout the organization will be as important as financial and numerical acumen. This role will have a hybrid schedule with a preference for candidates who are able to work in our Norwood, MA headquarters as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily, monthly & annual sales and financial reporting including, but not limited to, depletion reporting, incentive program resolution, depletion allowance reconciliation, sales forecasting, etc.
  • Assist sales management, suppliers and sales reps with varied sales related tasks.
  • Continuously monitor, audit and analyze pricing activity.
  • Read, interpret and discuss pricing requests with Sales or Brand Managers to assure proper understanding of the exception and related pricing implications.
  • Work with the Sales Administration team on the daily management of our Massachusetts focused local and national retail chain business.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance or Business preferred, and 2-4 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Excel.
  • Strategic thinker – demonstrates ability to see big picture, anticipate changes and impact on trends, asks what if questions, develops recommendations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical skills for preparing and verifying pricing analysis with a strong attention to detail. This includes ability to calculate amounts such as commissions, discounts, percentages, and volume.
  • Oral Communication - Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; participates in meetings.
