We’re looking for an organized, pro-active Accounting Manager with CPG/retail experience to join our growing team. This person will report directly to our Controller. 

This is a full time, in-person/hybrid role (Tues, Weds + Thurs in office) based in Tribeca, NYC.

As Accounting Manager, you'll: 

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day financial operations, including revenue, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
  • Support the Retail sales team on revenue reporting, commissions calculations, trade spend accounting and new customer set-up
  • Drive efficiencies in processes, work product and ways of working across the accounting team
  • Perform month-end reconciliations for key accounts such as revenue, fixed assets, receivables and accrued expenses, booking journal entries when necessary
  • Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting standards 
  • Provide thoughtful insights to FP&A team on monthly actuals, and support them in their budget-to-actual analysis
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial audits 
  • Create process documents & controls within accounting and high-spend areas to drive organization and accountability across the organization
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reporting 
  • Collaborate internally with the Finance team, as well as with cross-functional teams 
  • Bachelorʼs degree in Finance or Accounting 
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience and CPA certification preferred 
  • Experience with CPG / retail 
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards 
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills 
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 
  • Organized, detail-orientated and proactive team member 
  • Excellent communication and time management skills 
  • Outstanding attention to detail coupled with an ability to see a bigger picture

We’re looking for an experienced content creator and savvy social media expert to join our growing team. With ample experience growing brand(s) TikTok and Instagram, this person will be the face of our social channels, creating content to drive significant channel growth and engagement. This role will report into our Head of Brand.

This is a full time, in-person/hybrid role (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in office) based in Tribeca, NYC.

As Social Media Manager & Content Creator, you'll:

  • Create short form video content for organic and paid media which aligns with business goals and brand growth across channels with a focus on TikTok & Instagram
  • Lead execution of weekly, multi-channel content calendars including content brainstorming, editing, caption writing and post scheduling 
  • Accelerate the growth of our audience size on TikTok while achieving best in class industry engagement 
  • Continuously monitor and manage Magic Spoon’s social community through, identifying, coordinating and executing opportunities with creators, partnerships and collabs
  • Build out a monthly reporting structure to share out key learnings with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain a pulse on trends, pop culture, current events, competitors and social media best practices, identifying key opportunities for Magic Spoon participation
  • Assist with ad hoc copywriting needs across key channels including paid social, email and web
  • 2-5 years of experience with a proven track record of growing personal or (preferably) brand TikTok and Instagram
  • Must be comfortable with UGC including filming, editing and being on camera 
  • Demonstrated experience working with video editing platforms such as CapCut, InShot, Adobe Premiere Pro 
  • Up to date with social media trends and what’s working and trending on TikTok an Instagram 
  • Experience in social media metrics and monitoring tools (I.e. Sprout Social)
  • Proven ability to be a creative and innovative thinker including excellence in concepting & copywriting
  • A love of all things fitness, healthy eating, and and knowledge about key creators and brands in the better for you space

We're searching for an organized, detail-oriented and experienced Project Manager to join our growing company.  This role will support both the Product and Operations teams. 

This is a full time, in-person/hybrid role (3 days in office p/w on average) based in Tribeca, NYC.

As Project Manager (Product & Operations), you'll:

  • Manage E2E projects for product and operations 
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget through cross-functional collaboration and accountability 
  • Continuously update and optimize timelines, process, documents, and tools
  • Facilitate meetings among relevant parties to maintain timeline integrity
  • Lead weekly project meetings, and send updates/dashboard weekly
  • 3-5+ years independently managing projects end to end
    • Ideally within food innovation/CPG/Operations
  • Experience managing cross functional innovation projects from concept to post mortem
  • Experience using project management software (ideally smartsheet or similar)
  • Understanding of stage gate processes and best practices
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management
  • Experience managing projects in a matrixed organization
  • Expertise in project management tools and timeline creation
  • Strong meeting facilitation and management skills
  • Background in creating project and portfolio dashboards
  • Strong communication skills
  • Process driven, and detail oriented

We’re looking for a Senior Food Scientist to support the development work associated with our exciting pipeline of projects!

This is a full time, in-person/hybrid role (Tues, Weds, Thursday in office) based in Tribeca, NYC.Some additional travel may be required for this role.

As Senior Food Scientist, you'll:

Primary

  • Manage Ingredients/Formulas in nutrition software
  • Be responsible for all calculations for packaging
    • Us vs. them
    • Net carbs
    • NFP
    • Ingredient declaration
  • Be responsible for prototyping, formulation, pilot production and scale-up to plant implementation of innovation & renovation projects
  • Create technical documents, specifications and cook preps
  • Manage Lab Inventory needed for prototypes and samples
  • Manage Internal Sensory testing - including analysis of results/recommendations of next steps
  • Coordinate benchtop sample requests to ensure samples/prototypes are completed in a timely and efficient manner

Secondary

  • Provide technical support to Operations/Manufacturing Team for commissioning of innovation and renovation projects
  • Leverage R&D resources at manufacturing facilities to increase technical capabilities for product/process improvement initiatives
  • Support ingredient and formulation trial plans
  • Ensure compliance to internal and external policies, quality standards and legal requirements
  • Provides support in building technical expertise and maintaining a community of best practice to technical colleagues
  • Maintain accurate and complete records with a high level of organization
  • Handle product cuttings, testing and other duties as assigned
  • Support team on shelf life testing - real time and accelerated

  • Possess strong product development skills in ingredient functionality, material selection and formulation to understand effects on finished product performance
  • A BS or MS degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or a related degree
  • At least 5 years of relevant concept to launch experience in formulation, start-up & continuous improvement or optimization projects
  • Previous experience with ESHA/Genesis or ProductVision
  • Ability to build strong trusted working relationships and rapport at all levels & demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Are familiar with the activities in Marketing, Market Research, Legal/Regulatory, QA and Manufacturing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Be able to travel up to 35%
