Your impact

We are seeking a highly motivated Revenue Accounting analyst to join the accounting team and support the growing Handshake business. In this role you will be an essential player in all aspects of order to cash operations, lead the system automation efforts and partner with cross-functional Handshake teams.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, great interpersonal communication skills, willingness and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Your role

  • Process customer billing runs in accordance with the customer contract terms
  • Oversee daily cash applications process
  • Review and analyze customer aging reports, follow up on the overdue customer accounts, suggest appropriate actions required for customer collections
  • Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve any issues related to billing and customer balances reconciliations
  • Perform month end close responsibilities to ensure accounts receivable accuracy and  completeness
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Legal, Finance) to build and enhance customer billing and collections process
  • Participate in sales tax filing, monitor customer sales tax setup 
  • Collaborate with accounting team and cross functionally to improve accounting processes and internal controls through driving system automation initiatives, developing operating procedures
  • Actively participate in external audit and respond to accounts receivable-related audit inquiries.
  • Research and resolve issues with revenue accounting transactions and configurations, specific to NetSuite Advanced Revenue Module
  • Prepare ad hoc revenue reports

Your experience

  • 3-4 years of experience in billing operations, accounts receivable, credit and collections
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems. Experience with NetSuite is preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting rules and practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Salesforce experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of transactions, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, develop processes from ground, proactively suggest improvements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation range

  • $100,000 - $115,000 + RSUs

Your role

  • Proficient in using Identity and Access Management (IAM) tools likeOkta.

Your impact

Your experience

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior HRBP role within a growing tech business. 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and advise senior leaders and executives.
  • Proven experience supporting commercial or business teams (Marketing, Sales, Success) in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Strong understanding of how to shape and design these organizations, with the ability to translate business needs into effective people strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex HR challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and come up with creative solutions - you are an adept and agile problem solver!
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership responsibilities with a bias towards action - you have experience with managing both short-term and long-term goals
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.

Handshake is hiring a Senior Product Manager reporting to the Director of Product on our Employer team focusing on product led growth. Employers already account for a lion’s share of Handshake’s revenue, and we expect this growth to continue as we scale our SaaS offering and define the category of proactive, data-driven recruiting that helps employers hire entry level talent and young professionals find their first and second jobs. 

This role is a unique opportunity to help accelerate Handshake’s growth in a way that drives Handshake’s mission and our business. Today, the biggest employers have access to the most powerful tools in the recruiting journey. This role will be responsible for making those powerful tools more accessible to small- and medium-size businesses, and therefore expand access to opportunity for more students. And this role will help drive massive business value. Our initial venture into self-service doubled run-rate revenue in the past quarter—now, it’s time to scale.

You’ll be part of a close-knit cross-functional team of not just R&D but also Go-To-Market, including marketing operations, product marketing, sales, customer success and insights. At the same time, you’ll be mindful about making a positive societal impact, increasing access for diverse talent in entry level recruiting.

Your role

You’ll own the lifecycle end-to-end for your product area, including:

  • Leadership. You’ll represent your squad and product area to executives, and translate company-wide strategies to your squad and into your roadmap. You’ll inspire your team on the product vision.
  • Product strategy. You’ll ensure that your squads have a cohesive and differentiated product strategy that ladders up into the Employer team and company strategy.
  • Product development: You’ll lead a high performing cross-functional squad, including engineering and design partners, from research and roadmap planning to delivery 
  • Launch and adoption: You’ll partner closely on go-to-market and implementation, working with marketing, sales and customer success. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and tackle something hands-on. It’s never someone else’s problem. You’ll run beta programs and pilots to maximize learning and minimize code investment, getting close to the customer and the details through the process. 
  • Cross-Handshake partnership: You’ll work with stakeholders across Handshake’s largest team (the broader Employer team) and on other sides of the Handshake marketplace (EDUs and Student) to innovate quickly but deliberately

Your experience

  • Deep experience and understanding of Product Led Growth (PLG) in B2B SaaS,having worked with a product with significant free user base and developed self-service purchasing and adoption journeys

Your impact

Handshake is hiring a Senior Product Manager to help us deliver a world class consumer experience. More than half of college students in the US have a profile on Handshake but they’re using the platform primarily as a transactional job board. In this role, you will work with a cross-functional team to deliver a roadmap that helps students grow their careers through content and community and transforms Handshake into Gen Z’s professional social network.

Your role

  • Product Strategy. You’ll ensure that your squads have a cohesive and differentiated product strategy that ladders up into the Content & Community team and company strategy.

Handshake is hiring a Senior Product Manager, Enterprise reporting to the Senior Director, Product on our Employer team. Employers already account for a lion’s share of Handshake’s revenue, and we expect this growth to continue as we scale our SaaS offering and define the category of proactive, data-driven recruiting that helps employers hire entry level talent and young professionals find their first and second jobs.

Your role

You’ll own the lifecycle end-to-end for your product area, including:

  • Leadership. You’ll represent your squad and product area to executives, and translate company-wide strategies to your squad and into your roadmap. You’ll inspire your team on the product vision.
  • Product strategy. You’ll ensure that your squads have a cohesive and differentiated product strategy that ladders up into the Employer team and company strategy.
  • Product development: You’ll lead a high performing cross-functional squad, including engineering and design partners, from research and roadmap planning to delivery 
  • Launch and adoption: You’ll partner closely on go-to-market and implementation, working with marketing, sales and customer success. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and tackle something hands-on. It’s never someone else’s problem. You’ll run beta programs and pilots to maximize learning and minimize code investment, getting close to the customer and the details through the process. 
  • Cross-Handshake partnership: You’ll work with stakeholders across Handshake’s largest team (the broader Employer team) and on other sides of the Handshake marketplace (EDUs and Student) to innovate quickly but deliberately
  • Goals, metrics and tracking: You’ll create a robust and clear thread of data from strategy through development through in-market iteration.

Your experience

  • Strong foundation in roadmap development and releasing products for complex, multifaceted marketplace businesses or SaaS platforms.
  • 5+ years partnering with engineering teams to ship code. Ideally in a many-stakeholder environment with dependencies and collaboration. 
  • Strong systems and analytical thinker.Can connect the dots, spot challenges and edge cases, integrate multiple considerations.
  • Extensive experience presenting both internally and externally including working with customers, users, and internal cross-functional partners and executives.
  • Working knowledge of data-driven applications including mapping, schemas, permissions that inform user interactions and downstream analytics.

With your digital storytelling skills, you'll grow Handshake’s core social media accounts and experiment with new channels that reach Gen Z. You will report to the Head of Communications, and work closely with corporate communications, brand design and marketing. This role is based in San Francisco, CA and required 3 days a week in office (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday). 

Your role

  • Develop and execute social media strategies that support business objectives and highlight Handshake’s data, product, community, and team.
  • Run the show across all channels: content ideation, social calendar management, production and measurement. 
  • Drive the content creation process from ideation to publishing, in lockstep with the brand design team. 
  • Support executive LinkedIn content creation by identifying unique angles and trending topics relevant to their area of expertise, audience makeup and business objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and spearhead the social component of product launches, customer events and seasonal moments tied to the academic and recruiting calendar.
  • Seek out and build relationships with our community (students, employers and universities), industry experts and influencers to amplify our reach.
  • Manage and monitor accounts for customer service inquiries and potential brand risks.
  • Keep us ahead of the curve on trends, platform updates and algorithm changes.
  • Use data to track what's working (and what's not) and take action to pivot quickly. 
  • Be witty, supportive and additive to the online conversation through proactive community management. 

Your experience

  • 5-7 years proven experience in social media management either in-house, agency, or a mix of both 
  • You are an expert in: content strategy, social copywriting, video production, social analytics, community management, and platform optimization. 
  • What you are eager to become an expert in: data storytelling, higher ed, B2B software, and Gen Z trends. 
  • How you work: adept at multitasking, project managing, problem solving, managing up, collaborating with a range of stakeholders and communicating with a point of view.

Handshake is hiring a Director, Product Design to focus on the core employer experience and monetization. This individual will be critical to the strategy and execution of Handshake’s Employer product used by 900k companies, overseeing the design of the employer experience for both free and self-service products. More specifically, they will be a lynchpin in up-leveling and transforming the employer experience for small- and medium-size businesses to drive rapid business growth in a market segment with massive upside. 

This role is a unique opportunity to help accelerate Handshake’s growth in a way that drives Handshake’s mission and our business. Today, the biggest employers have access to the most powerful tools in the recruiting journey. This role will be critical to making those powerful tools more accessible to small- and medium-size businesses, and therefore expand access to opportunity for more students. And this role will help drive massive business value. Our initial venture into self-service doubled run-rate revenue in the past quarter—now, it’s time to scale.

Your impact

As a Product Specialist you are responsible for ensuring the education partners you engage with are educated on full utilization of our product and adopt critical Handshake features as identified by account needs and Handshake priorities.

Your experience

  • Fluent in English and French / German

  • You have a track record of excellent executive-level communication skills with customers and internal stakeholders

We’re looking for a Manager of Enterprise Success to join our Employer Sales Team - working with top employers across the nation to drive their early talent recruiting strategy.  You will serve as a leader for the Enterprise Segment of existing partnerships, reporting to the Senior Director of Customer Success. Your role

Handshake is hiring a Technical Lead Manager, Machine Learning with a focus on Generative AI and Recommendations reporting to our Head of Core Relevance.

Your role

  • You will be a Force Multiplier - setting technical direction, shaping engineering culture, identifying and adopting industry best practices, designing effective partnerships across the company, mentoring and coaching direct reports / peers, and more. 
  • You will be a Leader-  managing a lean team of machine learning engineers and data scientists while enabling effective collaboration, high-quality execution, and technical excellence across the Data organization
  • You will be an Innovator -  developing algorithms and Machine Learning systems that connect users across the Handshake marketplace; from students looking for their first jobs and internships to employers sourcing candidates for high-priority roles.
  • You will be a Collaborator -being an effective partner to product managers; you will work with product managers in driving new user experiences through Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing and build experiments that drive key product decisions and provide invaluable insights.

Your experience

You are an experienced, hands-on senior engineering leader with extensive experience identifying problems, coming up with technical solutions, and driving projects to completion. You care about culture, mentorship, and collaboration just as much as you care about coding, architecture, and technical design. You have an extreme user-focus, you are comfortable with ambiguity, you can drive alignment, and you make thoughtful data-driven decisions. 

  • Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience.
    • 7+ years of industry ML experience
    • Experience as Tech Lead or Manger 
  • Preferred Qualifications:  
    • End-to-End experience building web-scale AI systems, feature stores, microservices
    • Background in one or more of the following areas of machine learning: recommendations, optimization, natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, LLMs, explainable AI
    • Experience building applications atop of IAAS (Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Azure Cloud Services, etc.)
    • Experience working directly with cross-functional teams such as product management, analytics, engineering, and design.

  • Support executive LinkedIn content creation by identifying unique angles and trending topics relevant to their area of expertise, audience makeup and business objectives.

Handshake is hiring a Tech Lead Manager, Machine Learning with a focus on Generative AI and Recommendations reporting to our Head of Core Relevance. 

AI is the future and we are excited to further invest in providing AI resources for our users on our platform. Is it possible to thoughtfully design a responsible, AI-driven product that can help our students progress from educational aspirations to career achievements?  In this role, you will work on tackling that goal as part of a lean, high-visibility team. You will be responsible for helping advance our AI product and infrastructure vision towards our mission of democratizing opportunity for millions of students on Handshake.

You will be part of a high-impact org that has already built a Data platform housing billions of data points, with cutting-edge production systems such as embedding-based retrieval, Graph Neural Networks, Fine-Tuned LLMs, and multi-stage rankers.  You will level up existing ML systems and drive marketplace metrics, while also accelerating greenfield AI-based products such as Social/Feed.  We’ll do all of this responsibly, with developed workstreams around Explainability, Fairness, and Quality.

Your role

  • You will be a Force Multiplier - setting technical direction, shaping engineering culture, identifying and adopting industry best practices, designing effective partnerships across the company, mentoring and coaching direct reports / peers, and more. 
  • You will be a Leader-  managing a lean team of machine learning engineers and data scientists while enabling effective collaboration, high-quality execution, and technical excellence across the Data organization
  • You will be an Innovator -  developing algorithms and Machine Learning systems that connect users across the Handshake marketplace; from students looking for their first jobs and internships to employers sourcing candidates for high-priority roles.
  • You will be a Collaborator -being an effective partner to product managers; you will work with product managers in driving new user experiences through Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing and build experiments that drive key product decisions and provide invaluable insights.

Your experience

You are an experienced, hands-on senior engineering leader with extensive experience identifying problems, coming up with technical solutions, and driving projects to completion. You care about culture, mentorship, and collaboration just as much as you care about coding, architecture, and technical design. You have an extreme user-focus, you are comfortable with ambiguity, you can drive alignment, and you make thoughtful data-driven decisions. 

  • Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience.
    • 4+ years of industry ML experience as TL or TLM
  • Preferred Qualifications:  
    • MS/Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Statistics or a related field 
    • 7+ years of industry ML experience as TL or TLM
    • End-to-End experience building web-scale AI systems, feature stores, microservices
    • Background in one or more of the following areas of machine learning: recommendations, optimization, natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, LLMs, explainable AI
    • Experience building applications atop of IAAS (Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Azure Cloud Services, etc.)
    • Experience working directly with cross-functional teams such as product management, analytics, engineering, and design.
    • Excellent communication skills — ability to succinctly communicate results and tell compelling stories with data to an out-of-domain audience (e.g. presenting findings and deep-dives to senior leadership).

Compensation range

  • $235,000-$260,000

Your impact

Handshake is hiring a Senior FP&A, Manager - Corporate & G&A reporting to theSr. Director of FP&A, on theFinance who has strong analytical and modeling background in SaaS/Subscription industry. This is a highly visible role that will be a business partner to Handshake’s Executives. The ideal candidate should have a background in 3- statement modeling, strong understanding of SaaS KPIs, strong deep understanding of GAAP and previous corporate FP&A and G&A support experience.

Your role

  • Revise and update several SaaS models and eventually drive the process into the proprietary environment such as Adaptive

  • Own the month end and roll-forward process, standard and cadence to ensure control, and timely and accurate reporting.

  • Collaborate with accounting and own the cash and OIE forecast .

  • Improve the LRP (Long Range Plan) B/S and CF modeling

  • Partner with accounting to build a new collection and billing forecast at account level to improve collection forecast accuracy

  • Take over the G&A and EDU business partner responsibilities cadence and communication with assigned Cost Center owners

  • Work on revenue recognition transitioning from ARR/Bookings

Your experience

  • 7+ years of experience in FP&A focusing in SaaS metrics, and corporate FP&A.

  • Advanced excel modeling skill on 3-statement and subscription modeling.

  • Deep understanding of GAAP and working knowledge of revenue recognition.

  • Prior experience of different systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite and Adaptive.

Bonus areas of expertise

  • Big 4 experience or CPA

  • Pre-IPO SaaS startup experience

Compensation range

  • $175,000 - $190,000

Your impact

We’re looking for a Manager of Enterprise Success to join our Employer Sales Team - working with top employers across the nation to drive their early talent recruiting strategy.  You will serve as a leader for the Enterprise Segment of existing partnerships, reporting to the Senior Director of Customer Success. You’ll work closely with the team to ensure they achieve their goals, build relationships with executives, and drive customer retention and expansion from onboarding through renewal.   

You’ll be instrumental in building and leading a world class Customer Success program for the category leading platform. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success managing revenue carrying individual contributors in SaaS technology companies.

Your role

  • Lead a team of 6-8 Enterprise Customer Success Managers to successfully achieve our client’s goals while simultaneously carrying a team quota to reach our organization’s revenue goals
  • Drive team to meet & exceed quarterly NDR and logo retention quotas
  • Effectively tracks progress to goals - adoption, usage, and overall satisfaction (NPS)
  • Maintain relationships with executives at our largest partners  
  • Assist team with renewals, identifying upsell opportunities and managing churn
  • Act as the direct supervisor of a team of Customer Success Managers, leading them to achieve personal development goals and grow within the organization
  • Build and maintain a library of training materials to onboard and develop team members
  • Synthesize the voice of Enterprise customers from qualitative and quantitative feedback, share with leadership and cross-functional partners. 
  • Leverage data and feedback for client reporting and informing the product roadmap.
  • Understand market trends and keep up-to-date with the latest developments and discussions impacting the industry.
  • Work closely with cross functional partners (like Marketing, Finance, Sales Ops) on materials and initiatives that impact CSM function
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure client objectives are met and value is delivered via our product
  • Monitor customer engagement and progress to goals. View customer satisfaction as a top priority
  • Mentor, assist with account planning, performance management, metric pacing, pipeline generation, and forecasting for all team members

Your experience

  • 5+ years’ SaaS enterprise CSM and/or post sales experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years managing a team of individual contributors
  • Proven track record of success with your own book of business, and regularly hitting individual and team goals
  • Experience preparing renewal proposals, forecasting, and account planning
  • Experience with an evangelical sale, selling non-discretionary software to executives at Fortune 500 companies
  • Experience building process, identifying gaps and executing on relevant initiatives
  • Experience using usage, data and results to demonstrate value  
  • An impeccable communicator with polished and professional sales presentation skills
  • Desire to think analytically with a methodical approach to identifying challenges and measure impact, including the ability to use data to support strategy and create a story
  • Ability to think systematically, identifying and building infrastructure, processes, and tools to drive efficiency and streamlined operations
  • You thrive in a fast paced environment, appreciate and demonstrate flexibility as needed
