Go Fish Digital is seeking a Social Media Marketing intern to assist in a variety of roles, with a focus on social media copywriting and content strategy. We’re looking for self-starters who are passionate about the internet and digital media. Successful interns will possess a creative personality, a high level of attention to detail, enjoy building relationships, have an active online presence, and stay up-to-date on new innovations and trends in social media.

We have a trusting and flexible work culture, but it comes with responsibility, so you’ll need to be the type of worker who is disciplined enough to get things done without someone watching over your shoulder. We are looking for someone to bring great ideas to the table and be unafraid to ask questions.

You will:

  • Fill a wide variety of roles related to social media, with a different workflow every day
  • Work with our team to plan and implement online marketing campaigns
  • Brainstorm to create interesting content and marketing ideas for a wide variety of clients
  • Help serve as community manager, by posting content, responding to users, and flagging issues to internal teams
  • Use analytics and other reporting tools to identify opportunities
  • Develop social media assets, including copy, images, and/or video for brands
  • Perform audits to identify untapped opportunities

You should have some or all of the following attributes:

  • Junior or senior at a four-year university
  • Strong writing skills
  • Active, engaged, and knowledgeable social media user
  • Organized, self-starter, and creative
  • Detail-oriented

Bonus Points:

  • Knowledge of social media marketing tools such as Sprout Social, Canva, etc.
  • You maintain your own blog or online portfolio
  • Prior copywriting experience

Hours and Location

This internship begins spring 2025. Applicants must be available for 12 weeks or longer during the spring and should expect to work approximately 10-20 hours per week, at least one in person in our office in downtown Raleigh, NC.

We need a project manager who is confident enough to guide clients down the right paths and our team toward the right solutions. Someone who can artfully manage both being the agency’s mouthpiece to the client and the client’s mouthpiece to the agency. Someone who can push back in a way that makes people love them even more for doing it. To sum it all up -- someone who is strategic, hands-on, tenacious, humble, passionate AND fun.

You will:

  • Be the direct, single point person for clients. Clients will love working with you, and will often ask for things outside of scope - because you have such a knack for figuring things out and getting things done!
  • Guide a team. You’ll be organizing and leading projects and teams; executing digital marketing strategies - from SEO and link building content campaigns to PPC, ORM and website design.
  • Be willing to be a tactician. You won’t just manage the project, but you’ll also roll up your sleeves and use your expertise to dig into data and other details.

You should have some or all of the following attributes:

  • Experience in an agency setting, coordinating projects, setting strategy and being a direct point of contact for clients.
  • Strong problem solving skills - if you don’t know something, but a client needs it, you will do everything you can to quickly figure it out.
  • Extreme attention to detail - especially writing and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working with and presenting to management and executives.
  • An analytical mindset - experience diving into Google Analytics, data sheets and connecting all the dots.
  • The capability to brainstorm and be part of technical and creative teams.
  • Experience with SEO tools are a plus: Moz, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc.
  • Certifications are a plus: PMP, CAPM, CSM, Google Analytics and/or Ads (or experienced with other paid digital media), etc.

The role of the SEO Strategist is to create and execute SEO strategies that align with our client’s KPIs. They are responsible for meeting timelines and delivering high-quality work. An SEO Strategist leads the strategy by evaluating the work we’ve completed to determine its effectiveness. They adjust the strategy as needed to get the best results possible. You will:
