WHAT YOU'LL DO

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Email team, which is responsible for building and maintaining the core infrastructure that delivers billions of personalized emails a month to our customers’ end users as well as processing all associated reporting data. This includes a highly parallelized platform to personalize & send emails at huge scale, REST APIs to manage/track user subscriptions, web pages to allow end-users to self-manage preferences, and dashboards to configure customer email domains.

As the manager of this team, you’ll work closely with product, design, and the team’s engineers to build new features in response to customer feedback and scale the channel as message volume grows. You will recruit, coach, and develop the team’s engineers. You will help solve major engineering challenges, by guiding key architectural decisions and (in certain high-leverage cases) via the code you write. Finally, you will have broad responsibility for the team’s vision, goals, and processes. We greatly value colleagues who help make us better engineers and are excited, in turn, to learn from us. WHO YOU ARE

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of success, with 2+ years leading high performing teams
  • Thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility, while having the ability to dig into technical details to inform decisions
  • Ability to communicate effectively and make hard decisions and tradeoffs
  • Experience building foundational systems at scale and spearheading software projects that significantly advanced the goals of your organization

The Braze Salesforce Team is looking for a Salesforce DevOps Engineer to spearhead our pursuit of engineering excellence of our Salesforce Platform, focusing on integrating and enhancing our DevOps practices. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for refining our development workflows and elevating our Salesforce setup. This individual will take charge of overseeing our Gearset ecosystem, orchestrating updates and maintaining our development channels. 

The position demands a distinct combination of technical acumen, practical Gearset application skills and a comprehensive grasp of Salesforce development methodologies. We are looking for candidates who are committed to staying ahead of the curve in Salesforce DevOps practices through ongoing research, experimentation and implementation, which will empower our teams to excel through automation and self-service capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • DevOps Platform & Source Control:  Actively manage and configure our Gearset platform to ensure it is operational and meets team needs. You’ll identify improvement opportunities and implement best practices to ensure robust and redundant systems
  • Release Management: Own Salesforce releases, collaborating with development and operational teams, pre and post deployment
  • Security Collaboration: Work closely with Salesforce Development, Operations, Governance, Legal and IT teams to develop comprehensive security practices that safeguard our data, metadata and integration integrity at all points in our development process
  • Empowerment through Automation: Evaluate and refine our tools and processes to enable our teams to be self-sufficient, fostering flexibility and continuity across Productions and Dev Environments
  • Innovative Solutions: Engage in collaborative problem-solving to meet technical challenges, roadmap future solutions, and continuously raise the bar for Salesforce operational excellence
  • Team Success: Work closely with the development team, vendors and internal teams to facilitate the promotion of changes throughout environments using Gearset to automate and streamline processes

WHO YOU ARE

  • 5+ years of related or equivalent experience in Salesforce DevOps/Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps Tooling such as setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce using tools like, Gearset, Copado or Flosum
  • Experience with version control systems like Git and understanding of branching and merging strategies
  • Experience managing multiple Salesforce environments and sandboxes, including data seeding and data masking
  • Proven track record of managing Salesforce releases, including metadata and data migrations
  • Extensive experience in Salesforce development, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and Salesforce APIs
  • Strong Apex scripting skills to automate manual tasks as part of the DevOps pipeline
  • Experience working in Agile development environments and participating in Agile ceremonies
  • Experience with integrating Salesforce with other systems using REST/SOAP APIs
  • Understanding of Salesforce security best practices, SOX & IT General Controls for implementations and change management

Preferred Experience:

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I/II, Salesforce Certified Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect, Salesforce Certified Administrator 
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce Shield and Event Monitoring
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell to automate DevOps tasks
  • Ability to ensure code coverage using automated unit testing

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Braze is at an inflection point in our maturity, where a key focus of our work is on Scalability, Observability, and Reusability. Reporting to our Head of Incident Management, you’ll focus on major incident management, process management, program management, and release management. The Technology Operations Team is focused on ensuring that Braze is operating as a technology-first business, with process, policy, and support in place to manage growth and scale. You’ll be ensuring that programs and processes that span or are required by multiple engineering departments are standardized, followed, and improved over time. 

  • Creating, communicating, and executing the incident response strategy and actions for individual incidents (spanning Security, IT, DevOps, and Product Engineering)
  • Incident Commanding - driving resolution of incidents by closely partnering and collaborating with Engineering, Technical Support, and Customer Success
  • Lead and contribute projects to improve tools and processes related to manageability, observability, resiliency
  • Manage incident-related training, including cross-training of our SREs, DevOps, and Application Engineers
  • Overseeing the incident management process and team members involved in resolving the incident
  • Prioritizing incidents according to their urgency and influence on the business
  • Contribute to our blameless post-mortem process, driving prioritization of action items related to site reliability and resiliency
  • Understand and translate technical information and issues into business cases, impacts, and risks that can easily be interpreted by the customer
  • Leads the weekly release process as part of a release management team
  • Escalate and manages release related issues through to resolution

WHO YOU ARE

  • Able to effectively communicate critical issue status (both verbally and written) to executive staff, go to market teams, and other involved parties
  • Are able to effectively build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Ability to lead, make decisions, problem solve and work within teams. Can demonstrate flexibility and agility to move between role types within teams
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience leading technical incidents and driving them to resolution, whether as part of an on-call team or as an incident manager
  • A strong technical background and experience with specific tools for reporting, documentation, and observability (Jira, Confluence, Datadog, or the equivalent)
  • A good foundational understanding of release management concepts, DevOps, and SRE
  • You have a high degree of operational excellence, use data-driven decision-making to minimize risk, and love building and managing against reports and data
  • 7+ years in incident management, operations, or technical support experience

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to lead our Product Partnerships team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, capable of overseeing the development and optimization of our E-commerce integrations and related products. 

As the Engineering Manager, you will build and maintain best-in-class systems by helping architect, develop, and optimize our product. You’ll own your team’s success by shaping their process, supporting engineers’ growth, and working closely with the team’s product manager and designer to keep team efforts on target for product goals.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 6+ years of relevant experience with a strong track record of success, with 1+ years managing high performing teams
  • Experienced technical leader with strong and good opinions on product development practices
  • Passionate about customer experience and product delivery
  • Calm, patient, considerate, compassionate, supportive, and inspiring leader
  • A self starter with great communication and strong organizational skills, able to manage competing priorities and multiple streams of work at once
  • Experience with agile processes and tools

WHAT YOU'LL DO

This role is for a SaaS sales professional with a track record of both acquiring net-new business and expanding commercial relationships within existing customer enterprise accounts (2,000+ employees). The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience selling SaaS Solutions to enterprise clients where typical deal size ranges from $200K - $1M+/year.  In addition, candidates should have at least 8+ years overall industry experience.

This individual will have experience working with mid to large enterprise (2,000+ employees)  companies and understand the complex decision-making processes of a multi-constituent, enterprise sale.  Ideally, your product sales experience focuses on front-office applications and solutions.  Experience selling marketing automation, analytics, CRM, digital media publishing or content marketing solutions would be the best fit.  Prior experience should include collaboration with internal teams, including Business Development, Marketing, Sales Enablement, Alliances/Partnerships, Customer Success, Finance, and Legal.

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • Background in Enterprise Sales for Mobile or Marketing Technology and an understanding of current application trends in these spaces is preferred
  • Ability to research accounts, develop a point of view (POV) on the value your technology can drive for the account, and prioritize accounts across a territory to maximize bookings 
  • A demonstrated history of net-new prospecting and pipeline generation, both personally and in collaboration with BDRs and Marketing partners
  • Proven success navigating large organizations and ability to quickly identify the decision makers and the decision making process for large SaaS investments
  • Familiarity with Force Management’s sales training; Command of the Message and MEDDPICC is preferred
  • Outstanding verbal, written and stand up presentation skills
  • Prior experience with Salesforce.com CRM, or other CRM used to manage sales pipeline, required.  Demonstrated ability to quickly come up to speed on new cloud apps and tools.
  • A proven connector in your daily life through social media and other mediums
  • Prior experience in a startup, or emerging growth, technology company a plus
  • Ability to travel to customer/prospect sites, marketing events, and to company and regional gatherings

For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $155,000 and $165,000/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $310,000 and $330,000/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, Braze offers full- and part- time employees a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs) so that all Braze employees own a piece of our company.
