What You’ll Be Doing

As an Operations Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in the success of our operations. Working with our field supervisors, you will focus on building operational excellence, enhancing their performance, and helping to design processes that make daily operations more efficient.

This role involves both real-time problem-solving and strategic thinking to improve performance. You’ll also analyze operational data, create standardized processes, and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure smooth operations. We are looking for someone with a proactive mindset who is ready to take on the daily challenges of a dynamic environment.

Description

  • Collaborate closely with field supervisors to enhance their performance and ensure the smooth execution of daily operations.
  • Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements for process optimization.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to drive operational excellence across teams.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics to track performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Assist in managing daily operations, including fleet performance, scooter availability, and issue resolution in real-time.
  • Work cross-functionally with product, tech, and other teams to ensure alignment on operational improvements and projects.
  • Proactively solve problems and respond to operational challenges quickly, ensuring minimal disruption to daily workflows.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at scaling and improving operational processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Previous internship or up to 1 year of experience in operations, logistics, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory (entry-level candidates are welcome to apply).
  • Strong process improvement skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement changes.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for tracking and analyzing operational data (knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker is a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to handle operational issues quickly and effectively.
  • Detail-oriented mindset for monitoring KPIs and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-driven.
  • Eager to learn and contribute to operational excellence in a growing company.
  • Adaptable and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and operational goals.
  • Proficiency in English (both verbal and written).

Warehouse Operations Performance Management:

- Oversee nationwide WH operations, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

- Develop and implement new operational metrics, including WH backlog management, repair, and cost efficiency.

- Track and quantify performance on a weekly basis in collaboration with various stakeholders.

Quality Assurance and Workflow Management:

- Provide quality assurance guidance, ensuring adherence to standards and continuous improvement.

- Develop and oversee the execution of the repair/scrap playbook, with particular attention to workflow optimization.

- Track spare parts consumption and work closely with relevant teams to ensure inventory accuracy.

People Management:

- Develop and implement training curriculums to enhance skill levels across the field team.

- Act as the key contact person for consolidating city-specific WH operations sprints and actions, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.

Safety and Compliance:

- Participate in safety projects aimed at ensuring a secure and compliant working environment within the warehouse operations.

- Collaborate with the safety management team to implement best practices and adhere to safety regulations.

Communication and Collaboration:

- Serve as the main contact point between hardware/software product teams and ground operations, facilitating smooth communication and project execution.

- Work closely with concerned teams to establish inspection guidelines, provide support for incident response, and lead deep-dive investigations when necessary.

- Coordinate with HQ and regional stakeholders, including ROPS, Strategy, Product, SCM, and finance teams, to ensure alignment and effective execution of operational strategies.

Project Management:

- Lead new project initiatives, particularly those related to product and WH features.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new initiatives.

- Escalate issues related to significant costs or initiatives that impact other departments, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Stakeholder Management:

- Engage with key stakeholders across various departments, including HQ, SCM, product management, and finance, to drive operational improvements and resolve issues.

- Act as the point of escalation for major operational challenges, ensuring that all relevant parties are informed and involved in decision-making processes.

- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment. - Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

- Strong SQL skills are required for data analysis and metric development.

- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential.

- Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successfully implementing complex initiatives.

- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Strategy formulation and execution for the Korean market will cover number of aspects:

  • Initiative planning: identify key business issues and prioritise quarterly strategic intiaitives (covering both top-line and cost) to address them - based on deep-dive analysis estimated effort, impact and risk
  • Forecasting and manpower budgeting: assist financial forecasting of acheivable business peformance based on key business trends & initiaitves execution, including formulation of appropriate manpower budgets
  • Execution management: work alongside the local team to drive execution key projects, helping to troubleshoot and overcome blockers that arise
  • Performance analysis: establish processes to ensure we have an accurate view of the impact of our initiatives and health of our Korea business, provide insights and recommendations based on these
  • Stakeholder collaboration: be a key facilitator of ever-closer alignment across Korean & global functions, improving governance and internal processes accordingly to achieve this
  • Coaching: work with junior resources across functions to upskill their strategic thinking and analytical skill sets
  • Experience: at least 7 years of experience in a strategic role, preferably within a dynamic startup, corporate, or professional services environment
  • Project management: Track record in owning and driving business functions and/or projects on behalf of senior stakeholders
  • Analytics: Structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data analysis and financial modelling to drive decision-making
  • Language proficiency: Professional-level fluency in both Korean and English (written and spoken) is a must
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience in managing and mentoring junior colleagues to achieve high performance within a positive, collaborative work culture
  • Team player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and develop deep working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Industry knowledge: Experience in mobility and logistics is a plus
